Darren Till has accepted a callout by Mike Perry for a boxing match on the KSI Vs Tommy Fury undercard on October 14th.

Darren Till Vs Mike Perry – Spa or Spar?

The ‘Gorilla’ and ‘Platinum’ have been touted to face off a number of times in the past. The fight has, to-date, failed to materialise. Till called Perry out following his TKO win over Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone back in 2017. This led to the pair exchanging words from either side of the cage. At that time, Perry was already matched against Santiago Ponzinibbio. Perry went on to lose that fight, whilst Till moved on to fight Stephen Thompson.

Till and Perry again clashed in a communication break down years later. The pair bumped into each other and squashed their beef. Perry asked Till if he wanted to go for a ‘spar’ but with the beef now squashed, Till had presumed that Perry meant a ‘spa’. Only when Perry started talking about which gloves he had with him, did Till realise his mistake. Till burst into hysterics and explained the misunderstanding.

Bare Knuckle or Boxing?

The two have been going back and forth this afternoon over twitter. In an interview with Jamal Niaz, Perry was asked why he was standing in as a backup fighter for Logan Paul, in the event that Dillon Danis were to ‘traditionally’ pull-out. Niaz questioned why Perry didn’t agree to fight Darren Till on the undercard instead. Perry responded by saying that he was absolutely up for that fight. Before looking directly into the camera and saying:

“Darren Till, we can put the gloves on since you’re scared to do it bare knuckle. I’ll knock you out with 8oz gloves on.”

Back and Forth

‘Platinum’ quote tweeted his interview with Niaz, alongside the caption, “Whattya say ol buddy ol pal? @darrentill2”.

Till responded almost immediately. “I say yes let’s go.”

Till then jumped onto another tweet which Perry had sent in response to Michael Bisping. Bisping had tweeted following yesterdays announcement that Perry would in fact be the backup fighter for the co-main event. Bisping’s tweet read, “Mike Perry will smoke all these fucking wannabes. #clownshow”.

Perry responded to the former middleweight world champion, respectfully calling him out for a bare knuckle boxing fight. “Thanks Bisping, the fact you’ve had one eye such a long time now and have still been a threat, you’ve said you’d have a go bare knuckle idk mate maybe you and I throw down, all love.”

Till was quick to jump straight on top of this. Till responded “You either wanna fight me, Logan or Mike. Make ur fucking mind up.”

The back and forth continued with Perry claiming he still wanted to face Till. “I wanna fight you Darren, haven’t heard a response from you in awhile so I wasn’t sure, figured you’d sign up with gloves involved tho, puss”. Till has since responded, simply, “Shit for brains”.

Thanks Bisping, the fact you’ve had one eye such a long time now and have still been a threat, you’ve said you’d have a go bare knuckle idk mate maybe you and I throw down , all love 🦾❤️ https://t.co/svoHTHXG4X

More to Come?

There is no doubt going to be more back and forth between these two. Perry is never shy of speaking his mind. Till has also taken great pride in being a social media troll in the past. With the two likely to continue their beef, there is a good chance that we see this matchup at long last.

Mike Perry has become a bit of a niche superstar since his departure from the UFC. Perry lost his way in the UFC towards the end of his tenure with his final loss coming to Daniel ‘D-Rod’ Rodriguez back in 2021. Since then, Perry has fallen in love with bare knuckle boxing. He is undefeated in BKFC. Perry’s last two wins came against highly regarded free-agent Michael ‘Venom’ Page. He then TKO’d former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold.

Till on the other hand, has not been seen in any form of combat since his final UFC fight against now number one contender Dricus Du Plessis. The ‘Gorilla’ is on a three fight skid. His recent defeats coming at the hands of Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson and Du Plessis. Till has insisted that it was his decision to leave the UFC. He claimed that he had asked for time away from the sport to get his body right. Till has struggled with injuries for a number of years. He has insisted that once he has fully recovered, he will find his way back to the UFC octagon.

Darren Till – Boxing Callouts

The Liverpudlian has been rumoured to be looking at a debut in the squared circle amidst some social media stabs at retired boxers Carl Froch and Rocky Fielding. Till and Fielding had quite the row over twitter within the last year, although a fight between the two never came to fruition. Till has recently been taking aim at Carl Froch on social media and has said in interviews that he would love to fight in a boxing ring someday soon.

This could be the perfect return to action that Till was looking for. A boxing match, against a big name in the MMA world. Till, being a much more calculated and methodical fighter than Perry, would no doubt look to impose his heavy left hand and accurate strikes, whereas Perry, would look to do what he always does and make it an all-out war.

One thing that is guaranteed with these two is comedy gold in the build up and all exciting fight inside the ropes. It is unlikely to take place on the October 14th card, but if the fight does get made, now or in the future, it is one that would certainly draw eyeballs.

Would you like to see ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry face off against Darren ‘The Gorilla’ Till inside the ring? Would you prefer to see them fight in bare-knuckle boxing? Who wins if the two are to face-off in the future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
