The UFC returns to the UFC Apex for UFC Vegas 85 with a main event where Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov will look to bounce back from losses, both hoping to gain the momentum they once had and hopefully earn a Middleweight title shot down the road.
Roman Dolidze was on a violent winning streak with his back-to-back-to-back finishes of some pretty tough opponents like Jack Hermansson and Kyle Daukaus. Dolidze’s championship aspirations were put on hold when he hit a road block losing to former middleweight contender Marvin Vettori. Dolidze has had enough time to return to the drawing board to figure out his mistakes to become a Middleweight contender in the eyes of the UFC.
Nassourdine Imavov just couldn’t seem to get into a rhythm in his most recent fight with former Middleweight champ Sean Strickland. Even with a loss in his last fight, he can find some comfort that Strickland went on to become UFC Middleweight champion. The set back loss could be motivation for Imavov, knowing that he has been in the Octagon with a champion and if he can fine tune his tools he could one day hold UFC gold.
