Sean O’Malley offered his thoughts on Jake Paul’s upcoming bout with Mike Tyson and shared his thoughts on Paul’s callout of Alex Pereira.
This past weekend Jake Paul beat BKFC champion and former UFC Welterweight “Platinum” Mike Perry by TKO on Saturday night. It came after the aggressive Paul beat Perry from pillar to post for six rounds.
After dropping “Platinum” three times, the referee saw enough and waved it off in the sixth round. Following the stoppage, Jake Paul grabbed the microphone to call out UFC Light-Heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
Certainly a very ambitious call-out laughed off by many, but UFC Bantamweight champion “Suga” Sean O’Malley fancies Paul’s chances:
“He called out Alex Pereira. That fight won’t happen unless Dana says ‘I’m sick of seeing Jake beat all these UFC guys I’m I’m f**** giving it’,”
Sean added: “Imagine Alex Pereira versus Jake Paul… Alex has crazy power in both hands but the dude throws from his hips. He’s there to be hit. That was a big thing about Mike Perry; he was there to be hit, his chin was floating, he was off balance, his chin was just kind of there to be hit.”
“Suga” continued to shed light on Jake Paul’s upcoming bout against Mike Tyson in November.
Sean O’Malley’s Interesting Take on Jake Paul V Mike Tyson
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson were originally scheduled to fight on Saturday 20th July. After Mike Tyson was forced to withdraw due to medical concerns Perry stepped up on short notice.
Now with months ahead, the hope is that Paul versus Tyson will happen on November 15th. Although Mike Tyson is a legend of the sport the masses have found the fight distasteful due to the large age gap.
Tyson 30 years older than Jake and already having withdrawn once is not seen as stable to fight. Regardless of the noise it seems the fight will still go ahead with both parties keen to compete.
Sean O’Malley weighed in on the bout with a warning for Mike Tyson on his YouTube channel:
“A few of those knockdowns were pretty f***ing brutal, god damn that was sweet,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel. “Jake looks like he’s improving every single fight. I’m pretty excited for [the Mike Tyson fight], I feel like it might look similar to that – I mean Mike Tyson is almost 60, Jake’s 30 years younger so I feel like it might look similar to that.”
There is no denying Paul is the younger, fresher fighter, but Tyson’s training videos show his power hasn’t left him.
