Sean O’Malley is one of the biggest stars in the UFC right now. With an impressive record of 18-1-0, 1 NC (10-1-0, 1 NC inside the UFC). His flashy fighting style paired with his exuberant personality has made him a very popular fighter amongst fight fans. O’Malley most recently won a unanimous decision against Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 299.

O’Malley came into the UFC with a lot of hype after his highlight reel knockout on Dana White’s Contender Series. He famously hopped on top of the cage and shouted to Dana “Welcome to the Suga show”. Since then many fans have wanted to tune in to watch him fight. it is safe to say his UFC career has not disappointed. O’Malley made his way up the division scoring impressive wins over the likes of Pert Yan at UFC 280 and Raulian Paiva at UFC 269.

After his win against Yan, O’ Malley was granted with a title shot against the champion at the time Aljamain Sterling. After a lot of build-up between the two over social media. As a result of this the fight gained a lot of traction and the bout was extremely hyped up. Many believed the wrestling-heavy style of Sterling would be enough to stop O’Malley in his tracks. This was not the case as O’Malley realised his goal of becoming UFC champion scoring a beautiful 2nd round TKO at UFC 292.

Sean O’Malley Reveals What Makes Him Three Times More Money Than Fighting

O’Malley is a part of the modern era of fighters. What highlights this is his effective use of social media to gain a following and land him additional opportunities. For example, O’Malley has amassed a large social media following of a combined follower count of 4.9 million. With this large follow O’Malley has used this to his advantage to make himself more money. He has gone on many successful podcasts with various influencers. Most notably he appeared on the Nelk Boys podcast “The Full Send Podcast”

Most recently O’Malley spoke with famous Youtube influencer Bradley Martyn. On this show O’Malley discussed the importance that social media has played in his career. He discussed that along with being UFC champion he wanted to become a multi-millionaire. He explained that he knows “you can make a lot of money without talking s***” but you will have to have a lot more fights to do so.

The 29-year-old then went on to state that he makes triple the amount of money from social media than he does fighting.

“I made a lot of money fighting but I made triple that from social media. From Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, all these different social medias. I made triple the amount I made fighting.
