UFC are set to cancel their Atlantic City main event. Unfortunately, Sean Brady failed to recover from an niggly injury in time for the event which was set to take place on March 30th.

Sean Brady who was set to face Vicente Luque in a welterweight main event has been struggling with a long-term injury. However, Brady confirmed via his Instagram that he was not rushing himself back too quickly.

Consequently, The UFC now has a race against time to find Luque. Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington are rumoured as potential opponents.

Sean Brady on Atlantic City cancellation

In a statement released on Sean Brady’s Instagram story the American wrote.

‘For everybody who keeps asking me about March 30 unfortunately I will not be fighting @luquevicente.”

‘I just need a little bit more time to let a nagging injury completely heal up. I will be ready to go end of April early May if he does not get into opponent, we can rebook.’

‘Thank you for all the support see y’all soon #teambrady’

What next for Vicente Luque

Vicente Luque now has a tricky decision to make, wait for Brady to recover and reschedule the bout or move on. Kamaru Usman and Coby Covington are two fighters who are rumoured by fans to replace Brady.

Kamaru Usman is one rumoured opponent with the former champion looking to rebuild after losses to champion Leon Edwards. Blessed with incredible wrestling skills and knockout power Usman would be an ideal replacement for Brady.

Colby Covington is the second rumoured opponent. Former interim champion, Covington is looking to bounce back after last month’s loss to Leon Edwards. The American who has struggled with injuries and losses over the last few years needs to recover and a fight with Luque could just be the redemption for Covington to kickstart his title challenge.
