Rory Sinclair Talks Unity FC Bout With Joe Prior
Rory, you kick off your 2024 campaign in a matter of weeks. Talk us through how you are feeling leading into a new year and fresh start.
Heading into 2024, I am feeling confident coming off a win in November; I’ve known about this card for some time, so I kept training just as hard in preparation for this bout.
I believe 2023 marked your first competitive year since 2021. Did you feel that inactivity and lack of cage-time when you did return? How did you feel in there?
I made my return in 2023 due to injury and working out all the mistakes from my bout in 2021; I didn’t give myself enough time to prepare for the bout from injury as I was still rehabilitating my wrist from surgery and did feel the effect mentally going into the first outing.
At the end of the year, you picked up your first win in your third amateur outing against Jamie Hallum at Goliath Fight Series 5. How satisfying was it to finally get that first victory under your belt, and do you feel a sense of pressure on your shoulders?
Heading into the Goliath fight series bout, I felt well prepared and calm both physically and mentally; I knew my path to victory was my grappling against Jamie, and I stayed calm and implemented my game plan effectively.
Lessons Learned From Defeat
Your last time competing on Unity didn’t unfold as you’d have hoped, dropping a unanimous decision. What have you learned from that fight that you hope to implement on Feb. 17?
Heading into Unity I have worked consistently with Ben and Eduardo on rounding out my full game and mixing it all together.
Joe Prior is the man you’ll face in Darlington. Upon looking into his past fights, what threats does she possess to your game, and what are you expecting from him?
I am looking forward to this bout; I haven’t seen too much about Joe; my main focus is implementing my game to whoever is in front of me; I’m expecting it to bring the best out in both of us and for the fans watching to enjoy every second of it.
Finally, viewers love hearing official predictions. How does Rory Sinclair get it done?
I believe implementing my game plan is the path to victory, and I am looking forward to putting on a show for everyone.
