Liam Harrison’s wish is coming true. After competing against the most legendary strikers of his era, the British Muay Thai superstar now gets to challenge the only opponent from his generation that has eluded him , Seksan Or Kwanmuang.
Harrison has politely called out the Thai legend for the past several months, and Seksan had
been more than willing to stand toe-to-toe with the “Hitman.” At ONE 168: Denver, these two
powerhouses who never take a backward step will engage in a Muay Thai super-fight!
Harrison Gets His Wish
For Harrison, it has been a long journey to reach this moment. After failing to dethrone then-ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama and suffering a disastrous knee injury in their match back in August 2022, the Brit was forced to the sidelines. Despite taking time off and getting surgery, he never properly recovered.
But in early 2024, Harrison received stem cell treatment for his injury in Costa Rica and now,
months removed from that procedure, he claims that his knee feels “the best it’s felt in years.”
The Englishman feels so good, he is training hard in the gym for his upcoming bout at ONE 167
against Katsuki Kitano in June and is already looking ahead to ONE 168 in September.
But the fight at ONE 168 is extra special.
Harrison knows he is coming toward the end of his legendary career, but the eight-time Muay
Thai and Kickboxing World Champion refuses to hang up the gloves until he stands toe-to-toe
with Seksan.
The British superstar has always respected Seksan, a multiple-time Muay Thai World Champion who has engaged in wars with a who’s who of the sport. He never takes a backward step, even in the face of danger, and he’s famous for constantly delivering fight-of-the-night performances. Now, after begging to face each other for the past several months, this super-fight is finally happening, and it could very well be the fight of the year
Liam Harrison Bio
Liam Harrison first began his athletic pursuits with soccer, and he proved talented enough to play it at avery high level in his hometown of Leeds. However, his life would change forever at the age of 13, when his cousin introduced him to Muay Thai. Harrison fell in love with the striking art immediately, and his passion for Muay Thai was so fierce thathe even left school to pursue his dreams of becoming a World Champion.
By the time he was 15 years old, he had already developed a fearsome reputation for his knockout power and aggressive, high-pressure style, which earned him the “Hitman” nickname. This tremendous success brought Harrison all over the world, where he has competed in more than100 bouts to date. Harrison made his ONE debut in 2018 and had a rough start having lost his first two fights. The next two left him riding back-to-back finishes which led to a World Title match against former ONEBantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama in 2022. While Harrison looked his best, he suffered an injury that put him on the sidelines. Harrison will make his return against Katsuki Kitano at ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga on PrimeVideo. Three months later, he gets his dream match against Seksan at ONE 168: Denver, which could
be a fight of the year contender.
Seksan Bio
While Seksan Or Kwanmuang is now regarded as one of the most dangerous Muay Thai fighters of all time, his story did not begin this way. Because Seksan was bullied at school when he was 9 years old, his father a former fighter decided to take him to a Muay Thai gym to build his confidence. Seksan began competing in the ring at the age of 10, and quickly earned a reputation as a formidable competitor throughout Nakhon Si Thammarat.
After he turned 15 years old, Seksan moved to Bangkok to pursue a professional career in Muay Thai. Thiswas a game changer for the Thai superstar, and his hard work and dedication helped him become an internationally renowned Muay Thai fighter. He has made a name for himself by taking on the sport’s biggest names, including Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Superlek Kiatmoo9, and many more. Seksan embarked on a magical six-fight run through ONE Championship in 2023, collecting a series of performance bonuses forhis efforts and earning himself a six-figure contract with the world’s largest martial arts organization. On September 6 in Denver, the four-time Muay Thai World Champion meets fellow striking legend Liam Harrison at ONE 168 in what will undoubtedly be Seksan’s most highly anticipated bout to date.
