The influencer boxing scene has already seen multiple promotions come in and fail due to things such as; failing to pay fighters, low ticket sales, and overall poor management skills. However, August of 2022 saw KSI launch and fight on his promotion, Misfits Boxing, in which he fought two opponents on the same night in a packed O2 Arena. After holding two more successful events in Sheffield, and Austin, Misfits Boxing had proven it’s worth enough for DAZN to strike a 5-year partnership with them. Misfits & DAZN are returning to London tonight and putting on an (Influencer) stacked card at the OVO Wembley Arena, with KSI vs FaZe Temperrr topping the bill.
Originally the event was headlined by KSI and Dillon Danis, but ten days before, Danis pulled out of the fight. Most within the MMA community could see this coming, with Ariel Helwani jokingly giving the bout happening “+10000” odds. So then came the scramble to find a new opponent. With FaZe Temperrr already scheduled to fight on the card but without an opponent announced, it appeared like the obvious choice. It’s almost like Misfits knew something like this might happen due to Dillon’s track record.
The main event tonight has KSI putting his Misfits Cruiserweight title on the line against FaZe Temperrr. Other fighters on the card include rapper Swarmz, DJ Tom Zanetti, and ex-Bellator fighter Anthony Taylor.
KSI (3-0) is looking to keep his undefeated record and build up more hype for his inevitable fight with Jake Paul (6-0), which is targetted for December this year. FaZe Temperrr will be looking to spoil the party for fans in attendance, as he will no doubt be fighting in a very hostile Wembley Arena.
Where and When to Watch
Tonight’s card will get underway from 7 PM GMT, with Anthony Taylor squaring off against ex-Love Island contestant Idris Virgo opening the card. Both men were fighting in combat sports long before the influencer promotion takeover started, so it may be a higher level of fight than what’s to follow.
KSI vs Temperrr will be live on DAZN for UK and Ireland fans. As it’s a PPV, current subscribers of DAZN will have to pay an extra £11.99 to watch it. While fans without DAZN will be looking to pay £19.98, this includes a DAZN membership also.
