Israel Adesanya Breaks Down Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev

Israel Adesanya gave fans his live reaction to Alex Pereira vs Magomed Ankalaev live on Saturday night.

With Alex Pereira suffering a sock loss, the question remains: what is next for the Brazilian?

Adesanya did say he thought Pereira had done enough to win the fight.

Israel Adesanya Gives His Opinion on Pereira vs Ankalaev

Former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya gave his honest reaction to the main event at UFC 313. UFC fans saw Alex Pereira lose via unanimous decision to Magomed Ankalaev. Whilst Adesanya and Pereira have had their differences in the past, the pair did agree to train together.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Israel Adesanya said; “I had Alex winning but I’m not sure. I’d have to watch it again and score the fight properly. The round two might have played a factor just because he dropped him but then holding against the fence I don’t really remember him getting any takedowns.”

“It was a competitive fight back-and-forth,” Adesanya went on to say. “They’re both going to level up and I’m sure he’s going to get a rematch. Spin the block.”

What Is Next for Alex Pereira?

Following Saturday’s result, fans have taken to social media, wondering what is next for the Brazilian superstar. Many agree with Israel Adesanya and believe a rematch is in order as the fight was very close, with nearly each round marginally edged by both fighters..

Others believe this loss could spur Alex Pereira to move back down to middleweight. The now-former champion has already clashed with Dricus Du Plessis several times on social media. As well as this, the UFC could decide to give someone else a chance at the title. However, with a lack of real contenders in the light heavyweights, Alex Pereira does seem to be destined for an instant rematch to avenge his loss.
