Henry Cejudo Reaction Sparks Debate After Topuria’s UFC 312 Debut

Henry Cejudo’s reaction to Aleksandre Topuria’s first UFC appearance quickly stirred controversy online. The former two-division champion didn’t mince words after witnessing Topuria’s unanimous decision victory over Colby Thicknesse at UFC 312. Although Topuria dominated the fight and secured a clean 30-27 score from all judges, Cejudo wasn’t impressed with what he saw.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Cejudo criticized Topuria’s lack of intensity, writing, “Biggest favorite on the card and fought with zero intensity. Not too impressed by Aleksandre Topuria in his debut #UFC312.”

The post instantly sparked debate among fans and fighters alike, with some agreeing that Topuria played it too safe, while others defended the young prospect’s strategic approach.

Henry Cejudo Reaction Highlights Expectations for Rising UFC Stars

Aleksandre Topuria entered UFC 312 as a major betting favourite, with bookmakers giving him the biggest odds advantage on the card. Despite the pressure, Topuria stayed composed and relied on his grappling and control to smother Colby Thicknesse throughout the 15-minute bout.

While the performance earned him his first UFC win, Henry Cejudo’s reaction pointed out what some viewers felt was missing.

Topuria may have secured a victory, but Cejudo’s feedback suggests that he wants to see more of a will to finish the fight.

What’s Next for Aleksandre Topuria?

For Aleksandre Topuria, this win is a significant step forward, and a monumental moment in his career but he’ll need to deliver more thrilling performances to win over sceptics like Cejudo.

Meanwhile, Colby Thicknesse, who entered the fight undefeated, will regroup and look to bounce back stronger, and was praised by his opponent after the fight.
