Golden Ticket Fight Promotions hosted its 27th event at the iconic KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, delivering a night of high action that lived up to every bit of the hype. Before the event, promoter Dan Cassell perfectly set the stage with this statement:

“Live from KK’s Steel Mill from 5pm, a card headlined by an up-and-coming prospect vs. a former World Champion UKMMA veteran for our Amateur Light Heavweight Title. The rest of the card is stacked top to bottom with local and international talent, and if you’re coming, you’re in for a treat!”

Cassell’s words rang true as the event delivered incredible fights across youth, amateur, and professional levels, showcasing the rising stars and established veterans of MMA.

Golden Ticket Fight Promotions Youth and Juvenile Talent Shine Bright

The evening began with three youth bouts and two juvenile fights, all of which displayed impressive skill. The two juvenile winners stood out as rising stars, showcasing the kind of talent that could one day headline future events.

The amateur portion of the card was a standout, featuring back-and-forth battles and technical displays. Fighters Gonce and Howarth were the highlights, delivering performances that had fans buzzing and cementing their status as fighters to watch.

Golden Ticket Fight Promotions Controversy in the Interim Title Fight

An interim title fight brought drama to the night, ending in controversial circumstances after Tallon was unable to continue following two illegal knees. With three rounds completed, Tallon was awarded the victory on the scorecards. While the decision sparked debate, the fight itself is one we could see again in the future.

Owen “Shotgun” Cartridge Wins Featherweight Title

The star of the show, Owen “Shotgun” Cartridge overcame a slow first round to pour on the pressure and claim the amateur light heavyweight title. Cartridge’s mature and controlled performance earned him Performance of the Night honours, showcasing why he’s one of the promotion’s most exciting fighters.

Professional Bouts Steal the Show

The professional fights were a masterclass in MMA skill, with three well-matched contests delivering thrills and technical brilliance:

  • Mehdi Korai overcame early adversity to secure a sensational submission victory, showcasing his heart and grappling expertise.
  • Rinchen, stepping in on short notice, put on a disciplined performance to defeat Johnson via decision in a tightly contested bout.
  • Dominic Wooding proved his class, securing a rare Peruvian necktie submission in a dominant performance that highlighted his creativity and skill.

Korai and Wooding were recognized as runners-up for Performance of the Night for their stellar efforts.

A Night to Remember

Golden Ticket Fight Promotions’ 27th event was a spectacular showcase of regional talent, further solidifying its reputation as one of the UK’s premier MMA promotions. Promoter, Guy Mumford would like to give a a special thanks to Team Spartan Security for their sponsorship, which helped make the night a resounding success.

“Without sponsors our show would not be able to do what we do. GTFP would like to thank all our sponsors this year and we look forward to working with sponsors old and new next year.” Mumford said.

As the promotion looks to the future, fans are already counting down the days until the next event. With cards like this, it’s clear that Golden Ticket Fight Promotions is setting the standard for regional MMA.
