George Kambosos Jr will return to home soil in New South Wales, Australia looking to make a statement to the Lightweight division.
Kambosos will take on Jake Wylie after previous opponent Daud Yordan pulled out on fight week due to an injury.
The Aussie is coming home now taking on a fellow Australian in Jake Wyllie. Wyllie is 16-0-0 with his only loss coming via TKO in 2023 but Wyllie isn’t here to make up the numbers. He has vowed to give Kambosos a competitive fight despite the mountain to climb in front of him.
“I woke up my girlfriend and said “I’m fighting George Kambosos!” On Saturday I become a Champion. I’m not here to participate, I’m here to takeover.” Wyllie has exclusively fought inside Australia with the highest level being national when he fought Dylan Emery for a national title.
Kambosos on the other hand is a veteran at world level competing in his non world title fight since 2020. The Australian has fought anyone and everyone in the division including Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko. Although Kambosos lost to both Lomachenko once and Haney twice it hasn’t discouraged him furthering his career.
“The way I look at it is it’s not wins and losses. It’s wins and listens. You keep getting up. We lose. Everybody loses in life everything. We lose every day, We keep bouncing back, and that’s how I am in my sport and it’s a sport. I’m a warrior in my chosen sport, and I keep doing what I do best. I keep stepping up and fighting the best fighters in the sport.”

Kambosos wins but not as easily as expected with late notice opponent Jake Wyllie really giving him a tough fight. Despite the grit shown by Wyllie he just wasn’t as quick as Kambosos who landed the cleaner shots.
Jake Wyllie has impressed immensely showing so much grit and heart to give George Kambosos a really tough fight. Wyllie has earned a lot of respect and fans, he didn’t quite produce the Rocky story he wanted but on just 7 days notice Wyllie has showed Rocky levels of heart to take Kambosos the distance.
Round 12-
The final round is even more feisty as Kambosos throws Wyllie to the ground but Wyllie jumps back up really trading and putting pressure on Kambosos. Jake Wyllie showing all the fans in attendance and around the world his skills and grit which has given Kambosos a lot harder night than expected.Wyllie threw absolutely everything into that final round.
Round 11-
Another close round which sees both fighters dig deep. Wyllie leading with his right hand a few times which plays into Kambosos’s hands counter punching him.
Round 10-
Kambosos going back to the counter punching which has come with success throughout the fight but Wyllie really making Kambosos work for every single punch in this fight. Both fighting up and till the bell and slightly after, neither fighter wants to back down even when the referee gets involved in the holdings.
Round 9-
Kambosos cut just above the left eye from a clash of heads, blood gushing out of the cut which Wyllie smells putting real big pressure on. Kambosos really trying to finish the fight fearing the cut may get worse.
Round 8-
Kambosos making those counter punches count well with that left hook landing consistently but Jake Wyllie is not going away without a fight.

Wyllie really pressing forward and making this a fire fight for Kambosos who is having success on the back foot counter punching well.

Jake Wyllie really game throwing and winning a lot of exchanges this round.
Wyllie landing some great shots on Kambosos including a left hook to the jaw of the Aussie. Wyllie warned for the 2nd time about shots behind the head and told anymore will be a point deduction.

Wyllie coming alive catching Kambosos and attempting to put massive pressure on his fellow Aussie but Kambosos finding some big shots with his right hand.

Wyllie holding out well after being rocked late last round but Kambosos really getting the better of exchanges especially when it comes to counter punching. Both end with a smile and excitement bouncing back to there corners

Wyllie starting the fight jabbing well but looks slightly apprehensive and cautious when getting into exchanges whereas Kambosos is firing with real venom rocking Wyllie with some huge left hand hooks to the body and head.
Official Tiara Brown Defeats Skye Nicolson Via Split Decision
New WBC Featherweight champion Tiara Brown.
The fight goes the distance in the favour of Tiara Brown. Nicolson started the fight really well keeping her distance and boxing like we’ve seen in her previous 12 fights but the further the fight went on the more Brown seemed to get the better of things bringing Nicolson into a dogfight making it her fight. Brown takes Nicolson’s WBC belt back to Florida.

More tussling and holding but Nicolson holding her feet throwing some bigger shots as Brown comes in with some real pressure. The fight ends with both working on the body relentlessly attempting to sway the judges.
Round 9-
Brown really placing the pressure on Nicolson with some big right hands but Nicolson struggling to get back to her boxing and keep distance from Brown.
Final round could be key to who wins this fight.
Round 8-
Nicolson lands a good left hand as Brown comes forward but more pushing and shoving which is unsettling Nicolson slightly.
Round 7-
The 7th sees more head clashes and Brown starting to gain confidence bringing Nicolson into a dogfight but Nicolson started to get back to her boxing in the latter end of the round.
Round 6-
Brown attempting to rough up the round even catching Nicolson with a huge over hand left but ends with Brown landing awkwardly on the ropes but no knockdown scored. A lot of head clashes in this round.
Round 5-
Brown is attempting to put more pressure on, charging like a bull causing a lot of holding which sees Nicolson go to the body well. Nicolson warned for punches behind the head but Brown making this slightly more interesting.

Nicolson starting to trade and sit down on her shots more even catching Brown with a heavy body shot early in the round.
Round 3-
Slightly ugly round with a lot of grabbing and tussling but Nicolson has had the better of the exchanges counter punching as Brown comes in. Hooks and Body shots have been key to Nicolson dominance.

Official Cherneka Johnson Defeats Nina Hughes Via Corner Stoppage In Round 7
Cherneka Johnson wins via corner stoppage after Johnson won 6 straight rounds conformably battering Hughes who didn’t have a reply for the pressure of Johnson.
Hughes corner warns her in round 6 if they don’t see more from her they will be forced to pull her out. Johnson cut Hughes in the 3rd then piled on the pressure with the much cleaner shots including the uppercut which became a staple in this fight. Nina Hughes got a point deduction in round 5 for holding.
Official Imam Khataev Defeats Durval Elias Palacio Via Unanimous Decision
Imam Khataev beats Durval Elias Palacio after a hard grinding victory, Khataev survived a swollen eye and an onslaught from Palacio to win via Decision. Both put on a very fan friendly fight with both catching each other with some big shots. Khataev deducted 1 point in round 5 for low blow. Khataev knocked down Palacio in round 4 with a massive 1-2.
