Fabio Wardley is a name that has become synonymous with destruction and entertainment to British boxing fans. An all-action heavyweight who has managed to rise up the ranks despite his non-existent amateur record. He took the British scene by force with his destruction of Nick Webb, Nathan Gorman, Michael Coffie, and David Adeleye. Most recently he battled to a draw in a war with Olympic bronze medallist Frazer Clarke and then starch Frazer in a rematch in 1 round. Those performances elevated Wardley to a new level really making a name for himself. Now he has stepped up a level and will now for his next fight be facing fringe contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller for the Interim WBA title.
Wardley vs Anderson
Queensberry Promotions announced the fight and it’s details on their social media. So Fabio Wardley will have a British homecoming to his hometown of Ipswich for what is set to be the toughest fight of his career on June 7th. This is a very exciting match-up of styles both men have a very pressure-orientated style and like to throw a lot. What also makes this intriguing is Miller has shown typically a very good gas tank and punch resistance meanwhile Wardley has shown some issues with cardio but can absolutely crack.
This makes the fight very interesting to see how Wardley deals with someone who will constantly pressure him and someone who may be able to take his shots. Similarly, it will be interesting to see if Miller can withstand Wardley’s punches. It’s a tough test for both men and a win for either could have big implications with the fight being for the Interim WBA belt. This would put the winner in a nice spot in the WBA rankings just below the regular champion who at this point is Kubrat Pulev.
For Wardley a win over Miller would be the biggest of his career and would put him on the world stage. From there who knows how far Wardley could go with there being many options. But, first Wardley will have to actually win come fight night and extend his undefeated record.
