Joe Rogan has shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor cocaine admission, a revelation that has sparked further controversy for the Irish fighter. The admission came to light during a civil lawsuit tied to a 2018 incident in Dublin.

Legal Trouble Surrounding Conor McGregor Cocaine Admission

The lawsuit stemmed from allegations by Nikita Hand, who accused McGregor of sexual assault in a Dublin hotel room. A court ruled in Hand’s favor, ordering McGregor to pay $258,440 in damages, along with covering her legal fees of $158,000.

The aftermath has been disastrous for McGregor’s public image. His longtime association with Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey took a hit, with the brand removing him from marketing campaigns. Airports in Cork and Dublin also decided to stop stocking the whiskey, while Ruth Coppinger, an Irish politician, encouraged the public to boycott McGregor’s products.

Conor McGregor’s Cocaine Admission and UFC Return

The revelation about Conor McGregor cocaine use during the court case has raised questions about his ability to return to the UFC. Once known for his focus and drive, McGregor’s recent years have been marked by legal troubles and a decline in form.

Although he still has two fights left on his contract, the timeline for his return remains unclear. Originally scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303, McGregor withdrew due to a broken toe. He later hinted at a matchup against Dan Hooker in February 2024, but the UFC has yet to confirm this.

Joe Rogan’s Concerns for McGregor

Joe Rogan, known for his candid opinions on MMA, expressed doubt over whether McGregor will ever return to the Octagon. On his podcast, Rogan addressed Conor McGregor’s cocaine admission, describing it as a symptom of deeper challenges.

“I don’t know if Conor’s ever going to fight again,” Rogan remarked. “I don’t know the real details of that case. I know his version, her version, and what played out in court, but the reality is that guy’s partying, and he’s partying real hard. He talked about it in the court case.”

Rogan also highlighted the toll that drugs and partying can take on fighters, especially during the later stages of their careers:

“He was talking about cocaine. That was the whole thing: [he said] ‘we were doing cocaine.’ He likes coke. We’ve all seen Conor get beat up and knocked out. We’ve seen his sparring footage. He’s sparring pro boxers, he’s sparring elite fighters. You’re getting hit in the head a lot. A lot of fighters, especially toward the ends of their careers, turn to drugs.”
