The Combat Jiu-Jitsu Welterweight World Championship 2023 delivered a night of thrilling action on March 26th, 2023. Sixteen top competitors in the division battled it out in a stacked lineup, all vying for the title. In addition to the world championship tournament bracket, the event also featured a pair of superfights, one of which saw Bellator and PFL veteran Ian Butler fall to Angel Villegas in EBI overtime, while Mike John secured a submission victory over Jacob Small in regulation time.

However, it was Andrew Tackett who stole the show, submitting his first three opponents in just 6 minutes and 15 seconds, including a standout performance against Davis Asare. His opponent in the final, Alan Sanchez, was equally impressive, submitting all three of his opponents in an even quicker 3 minutes and 44 seconds. The stage was set for an epic clash between the two, and they did not disappoint. The final was a war that lasted the full regulation time and every round of EBI overtime. In the end, Tackett was declared the winner with the fastest escape time, cementing his place as the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Welterweight World Champion.
