Carlos Ulberg, after receiving some media backlash, has had to explain his baffling call out after UFC 293. Ulberg made his call out of UFC veteran Dominik Reyes after his third round submission win against Jung Da Un.

It’s Safe to say that Carlos Ulberg’s call out of Dominik Reyes has been met with mixed signals by the fans. While an exciting match up, many feel that Carlos Ulberg may be shooting a bit too low to call a fight with the thirteenth ranked light heavyweight. Ulberg however, is undeterred and continues to call out the Brazilian.

In an interview with MMA junkie, Ulberg said: ‘I like it because he has been in there. He’s been in there with Jon Jones. Five rounds with Jon Jones, we know went. I thin that would be a step up big time. He’s number thirteen right now, that’s the spot I want.’

Carlos Ulberg v Dominik Reyes?

Dominik Reyes hasn’t competed since November. That was a knockout loss to Ryan Spann and was sadly his fourth fight in a row. This may be a great opportunity for Carlos Ulberg to get a spot in the ranked fighters. This may be the sad moment where we see the final nail for Dominik Reyes. Ulberg has currently got a five fight winning streak. Dominik Reyes’s career in the UFC is in free fall. Dana White may see this as an opportunity to phase out Dominik in favor of something better.

Another possible exciting fight for Carlos Ulberg may be Ryan Spann. With two losses in a row to Nikita Krylov and Anthony Smith, Spann’s most recent win was against Dominik Reyes. This fight could cut out Dominik entirely and could provide Ulberg a bigger challenge. Should Carlos Ulberg fight Dominik Reyes? Let us know in the comments below!
