Golden Ticket Fight Promotion 19 has started announcing fights for their June 4th card. Callum Turberfield will return from a near 3-year layoff to take on Ollie White in his second fight on the packed fight card. We caught up with the 1-0 Welshman in an exclusive interview.
Callum Turberfield Interview
Hi Callum, thanks for taking the time out to answer a few questions. How are you feeling a month out from the fight?
I’m feeling great currently. Training is going well, and I am putting in the work to make sure I am ready for the battle to come on the 4th.
Your last fight was back in 2019. What’s kept you from competing?
After my first fight, I took a little break. Life responsibilities took me away from training, and then Covid hit, making everything difficult. Unfortunately, I was scheduled to fight last July, but my opponent pulled out with an injury.
How long have you been training altogether?
Altogether I’ve been training for four years, but we did have Covid in that time.
Your opponent is very young in his MMA career. Do you see the experience as a big key to victory?
I am hoping my experience will give me an edge, but he comes from a strong gym, and I am not expecting an easy fight.
Your last fight ended in a stoppage. Do you expect more of the same this time out?
I am always looking to finish the fight, whether that’s by knockout or submission.
What would you say your biggest strength is in the cage?
My work rate and my no-quit attitude.
Thanks for taking part in the interview Callum. Anything you want to add?
I am raring to get back into the cage and show off my skillset. I am working hard and pushing myself towards my goals every day.
Thanks for giving us the time Callum.
