Callum Simpson has put on a show despite an early stoppage.

Simpson destroyed Steed Woodall with a referee stoppage in the 2nd round.

Steed Woodall was knocked down in the second round after a wonderful flurry from Callum Simpson.

Simpson then followed it up with lots of great shots but referee Mark Bates stepped in despite Woodall seemingly with his feet underneath him.

Callum Simpson claimed that it was all one way traffic even though Woodall was conscious and battling.

“If he didn’t stop it then, he would’ve stopped it half a second later, it was a legit stoppage and was only going one way”

Callum Simpson has now set his sights back to Barnsley football clubs ground for summer.

“Oakwell were coming for you, we’ve been given permission to mess up the pitch in summer”

This fight was even more personal for Callum Simpson. It was Simpsons first fight without little sister Lily-Rae Simpson who passed away in 2024 after a quad biking accident.

“I know she’s looking down on me and I know she’s proud, I’ve brought the rest of my family with me to remind me I’ve got a lot still to be thankful for”

Prior to the walkouts Sky Sports put on a touching tribute to Lily and the Simpson family.

"I'll never stop talking about my sister" ❤ 🕊

Callum Simpson Not The Only Champion Who Impressed-

Elsewhere on the card Caroline Dubois retained her WBC lightweight title in obscure circumstances.

Opponent Camara went down 42 seconds into the fight after Dubois threw a straight 1-2.

Round 2, Camara had been cut on left eye, whilst her nose and right eye were swollen.

Camara’s corner urged her to say the cut was obscuring her vision to the doctors if asked.

The fight eventually ended in a technical draw decision in the 3rd due to the cut being a clash of heads and the 4th round not being completed.

Despite this Dubois retained her titles in front of a Callum Simpson heavy crowd, who have taken a liking to Dubois.

Caroline Dubois is looking to return soon on the Boxxer all female card.

Dubois said “Terry Harper I want you”

Her trainer Shane McGuigan Believes “she’s the best female fighter on the planet”

McGuigan was also surprised the fight was stopped early.

“I’m very surprised that we didn’t have the chance to continue the fight, the cut was bleeding around her eye (not inside the eye vision)”

She was congratulated by the Boxxer team on her birthday today with cake just after the fight.

Boxxer returns on the 25th of January with Adam Azim Vs Sergei Lippnets.
