Cage Warriors Fighters Predict FIFA World Cup Winner
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on WhatsAppStart a discussion on Reddit

The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off today in Qatar. The opening game will see the hosts take on Ecuador in group A. Given the worldwide support that the World Cup gets, we thought we would ask a hand-full of Cage Warriors fighters who they think will win the tournament.

Sam Creasey

Sam “Unai” Creasey has been fighting with the promotion since 2016 and has certainly enjoyed himself since. The Cage Warriors flyweight champion defended his title, most recently, back in August against Stipe Brcic. He is scheduled for yet another title defence on New Years Eve against former foe, Shajidul Haque.

Sam Creasey Prediction: France

Michele Martignoni

“The Italian Thunder” shocked fans in Rome in October when he defeated Dominique Wooding to become the bantamweight champion. Martignoni impressed everyone in the fight by showcasing his heart and his determination.

Michele Martignoni Prediction: Argentina

Madars Fleminas

Madars Fleminas is never in a boring fight. The “Latvian Express” has not gone to a decision in two years and has always been pushing for Cage Warriors gold. Most recently, he was beaten in Rome via a round two submission.

Madars Fleminas Prediction: Germany

Jimmy Wallhead

“Judo” Jimmy Wallhead is truly a veteran of British MMA. The 38-year-old set up a legacy fight with Rhys McKee when he captured the interim title in his last outing agaisnt Mateusz Figlak. Now holding a record of 32-11, Judo Jimmy will go down as a legend of the sport.

Jimmy Wallhead Prediction: England

Oban Elliot

The Welsh Gangster himself, Oban Elliot is on a roll right now. Riding an impressive three fight win-streak, Elliot is continuing in his push for the coveted title shot. The Welshman has only tasted defeat twice but has always gone out on his sword.

Oban Elliot Prediction: Brazil

Caolan Loughran

Undefeated Irish prospect, Caolan Loughran is arguably the next in line for a Cage Warriors bantamweight title shot. After three round two TKO victories in a row, it’s understandable why Loughran is pushing hard for the next shot at gold. In his last walk to the cage, he finished former champion, Luke Shanks.

Caolan Loughran Prediction: France

Nathan Fletcher

Nathan Fletcher is a hell of a prospect, holding a record of 6-1. His only defeat came when he took on Dominique Wooding for the vacant title in 2021. He is set to face Alessandro Giordano on New Years Eve at CW148.

Nathan Fletcher Prediction: Brazil

Chris Bungard

Chris “The Bad Guy” Bungard has certainly been around the block over the years. The Scottish competitor has fought with several promotions, including Bellator. Tonight, he goes for Cage Warriors gold at CW147.

Chris Bungard Prediction: France

Aaron Aby

Here’s a fighter who really is an inspiration. The Welshman and cancer survivor, with cystic fibrosis has defied his life expectancy twice. Inside the cage, his record stands at 13-6-1, with his two most recent fights ending in defeat. However, a fighter as skilled as Aby is never too far from fighting for a title.

Aaron Aby Prediction: Brazil

Matty Byfield

Team Renegade’s Matty Byfield is looking to make it back-to-back victories tonight at CW147. The light-heavyweight got a huge KO victory last time out against Szymon Szynkiewicz. Tonight, he will take on Daniel Ladero.

Matty Byfield Prediction: Brazil

Josh Reed

Next, we have another Cage Warriors veteran who always puts it all on the line. Josh Reed has been fighting with the promotion since 2016 and has always been involved in exciting fights. “Crazy Horse” will look to get things back on track after two defeats against Luke Shanks and Ryan Shelley.

Josh Reed Prediction: Brazil

Matthew Bonner

The former champ, Matthew Bonner, is another fighter who returns to action tonight. After capturing middleweight gold in 2021, Bonner has gone 2-2. Tonight, he will headline the first card of the evening against Alan Carlos.

Matthew Bonner Prediction: Brazil

What do you think of these Cage Warriors fighters predictions? Who do you think will win? Let us know!
