Cage Warriors Academy Wales concluded it’s tenth instalment of events last night, and yet again delivered in every fight. Here’s what went down.

Big Announcement-

Cage Warriors Academy Wales made a huge announcement last night on social media and at the event. They have announced that they are rebranding the show to “Samurai Fighting Championships”. This news brings a whole set of new questions to the table. It hints at a potential for professional fighters to compete under the promotion, and suggest a scaled up version of the current show.

Standout Performances:

Tassanai Soinak– Tassanai made his mma debut last night and ended his fight in style. He squared off against Dominic Pullen, also making his debut. Round one began with some heavy cage wrestling exchanges, Tassanai remained patient and reversed this into a beautiful Thai clinch throwing multiple knees at Pullen. As this separates, Tassanai lands a huge overhand right, ending the fight via knockout in the first round. Many expected Tassanai to use his elite grappling skills in this bout, he proved here that he is more than comfortable standing. Fans are definitely excited to see where the “Thai Eagle” fighter goes next, as he bursts onto the scene as one to watch.

Lauren Woolf- Lauren Woolf made her second walk to the cage last night, squaring off against an experienced opponent in Hayleigh Heather. The first round begins with some striking exchanges, where Lauren landed multiple combinations. The first round finished on the floor where Hayleigh locked in an armbar, but with only a few seconds left of the round, Lauren waits it out. Round 2 and 3 saw a complete domination from Lauren’s side, where she out struck and out wrestled Hayleigh. Lauren remained patient, using her striking and counter wrestling to perfectly counter Hayleigh’s plan to grapple. For her second mma fight, she showed an IQ of a much more experienced fighter, impressing many, the sky appears to be the limit for Lauren Woolf adds another victory to her record via unanimous decision.

Ellis Richards- Ellis entered the cage last night coming off a loss in his las bout, and did not waste time. Round one saw some good striking exchanges from both fighters, but Ellis took things to the floor promptly. A few scrambles lead to Ellis reaching the back of Rhydian George where he landed a flurry of headshots. Ellis proceeded to flatten Rhydian out and land more damaging headshots, the referee stops the fight here. Ellis wins via first round TKO. The Welshman brought a huge fanbase with him last night and put on a show for all to see. An exciting fighter to watch, who always looks for the finish, Ellis Richards is one to watch for the future.

Roan Crocker- Roan Crocker made his anticipated return to Cage Warriors Academy last night, as he moved up the the light heavyweight division with gold in his sights. Round one begins with a fast paced wrestling exchange between the two fighters, where Roan gets caught in a guillotine. Using his elite grappling skills, Roan escapes and beautifully reversed this into a back take where he controlled Farshad Nazarina. A few scrambles later, Roan switches his attack to a triangle choke, ending the fight in the first round. Roan has now reached double champ status and brough his amateur record to an impressive 16-3. The young Welshman edges closer to a professional debut as he continues to out class his opponents.

Championship Fights:

Winners:

Roan Crocker- New Light heavyweight champion

Dan Kitchen- New Lightweight Champion

Levi Batchelor- Still Featherweight Champion
