Cage Warriors returns to the Eternal City tonight for another card full of homegrown talent ready to break out. Two top Italian prospects rematch in the headliner as Simone Patrizi looks to avenge his only career loss to Dumitru Girlean.
Patrizi is on a three-fight win streak since his loss to Girlean in 2021. Tonight is the chance for the lightweight prospect to get that result back in his hometown. Earlier this year Girlean scored a sensational KO over British star Adam Cullen. However, his last fight did not go to plan as he suffered his first Cage Warriors defeat in July in this very city. He returns to the scene of the crime to get a win in his home nation in the yellow gloves. Featherweight fireworks are expected in the co-main as Rome’s own Simone D’anna makes his Cage Warriors debut against impressive Brazilian Alberth Dias. The Muay Thai black belt has trained with UFC star Charles Oliviera.
The card is stacked with Italian fighters from all over the country. Leon Aliu is a middleweight contender coming into tonight from back-to-back losses against two strong ex-UFC competitors, Brunno Ferreira and Darren Stewart. He will be looking to ignite the Fiera Roma with a big performance. Additionally, Flyweight talent Tanio Pagliariccio takes on Cage Warriors legend and former champion Sam Creasey, the vet has had 17 fights in the yellow gloves.
