Marshall Fighting Championship (MFC) which is powered by the cryptocurrency Marshall Inu, returns on July 8th, 2023. MFC 2: Apocalypse will be broadcasted live on FITE from the newly renovated Ministry of Fun in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. The MFC team was able to secure the internationally acclaimed Robin Black who will be cage-side commenting the action. The main event for MFC 2 will see former WLC Light Middleweight World Champion Artur Saladiak face off with Ivan Hatala for the inaugural WLF Lightweight Lethwei Championship.

On May 27th, Saladiak was victorious in winning his Muay Thai title fight via unanimous decision against Mehdi Oulichki.

Saladiak’s opponent on July 8th Ivan Hatala was a stand out performer at MFC1 with a fight of the night performance in a draw with Krystian Niewzancy.

We caught up with Artur Saladiak ahead of his main event title fight to discuss how he’s feeling about this huge event.

Artur Saladiak Interview

How excited are you to be main eventing MFC 2 and competing for a prestigious title such as the inaugural WLF Lightweight Championship?

“Of course it’s very nice to be last fight on the evening.

And of course when you know that you are fighting for very exclusive title it’s giving you more motivation to train harder.

Giving you little bit more push to kick, to punch harder and to go a few extra rounds.

But that it all means nothing when you compare it to the prestige and the historical moment and glory after the win.”

WLF president Andi Egeberg has recently said that this fight is marking history for the federation and has backed this up by designing the “Red belt” worth $10,000, what would winning it mean to you?

“Being Lethwei champion has always been hugely important to me, and to become a two time Lethwei champion specifically by winning the WLF Red Belt would be a huge honor.”

Your a former WLC Lethwei Champion, coming from a Muay Thai title win, how important is it for you to once again become a Lethwei world champion?

“This fight it’s the most important fight in my career since i lost my title few years ago.

Now it’s time to bring the title home on my shoulder and become Lethwei world champion again.”

Your opponent Ivan Hatala comes into the fight on the back of a fight of the night performance at MFC 1, how much of a threat do you see Hatala being to you? and how much do you know about your opponent?

“I know that Ivan is a very good fighter but I’m going there to take what is mine and I don’t feel any threat.

There is a huge difference between a good fighter and a World Champion fighter and on July the 8th Ivan will see the difference.”

If you win on July 8th, do you have an opponent you want to call out, to come fight you in Lethwei rules?

After I win I don’t have anyone who I really would like to fight, I can fight anyone the result will be the same I will be victorious.

Do you have a message for your opponent Ivan Hatala?

“Be ready for war!.”

July the 8th Marshall Fighting Championship will be bringing it’s historic event to Slovakia don’t miss out.
