Angela Hill is ready to step foot inside the Octagon against a very tough Tabatha Ricci at UFC Vegas 96.

Angela Hill should be commended first and foremost for saving fight cards and giving her all against the very best in the UFC. Hill sometimes puts winning streaks and title aspirations on hold with a potential loss, all for the thrill of the fight and competition.

Angela’s readiness has always paid off. Making her one of the most dependable fighters in MMA. Being able to fight at a moment’s notice is very rare in the sport. Odds may be stacked against Hill as another causality to the “Baby Shark”. Angela’s “always ready” attitude has shaped her career for moments like this.

There are a few key fights in her run in the UFC where Angela Hill’s readiness and willingness to take fights on short notice have cemented her career as very memorable, win or lose.

Although Angela’s fight with Tabatha Ricci is not on short notice, her path to this fight seems to have built the armor she will need against a top contender.

Angela Hill Is Always Ready

1.  Against Jodie Esquibel (2018): Angela Hill stepped in on just two weeks’ notice to fight Jodie Esquibel at UFC Fight Night 135. With Angela Hill’s unanimous decision, her ability to prepare quickly and perform well despite the short timeline showcased why she is a fan favourite.

2. Against Loma Lookboonmee (2020): Hill took on rising star Loma Lookboonmee at UFC Fight Night 168. She accepted the fight on short notice and secured a unanimous decision victory. This fight demonstrated her readiness no matter the opponent.

3. Against Michelle Waterson (2020): Originally scheduled as the co-main event, Angela Hill accepted a short-notice main event at UFC Fight Night 177. Hill went five hard-fought rounds with Michelle Waterson, narrowly losing by a split decision. Despite the loss, her performance was widely talked about, especially considering the circumstances of the fight being changed leading up to it.

4. Against Claudia Gadelha (2020): Hill took this fight on relatively short notice and faced the former title challenger, Claudia Gadelha. Even after the loss, many debated the split decision with the outcome becoming quite controversial. The legend and aura even in defeat kept her reputation as a fighter who is always game.

These moments illustrate Angela Hill’s commitment to her craft and her ability to step up when needed. If she wins on Saturday against a highly touted prospect like Tabatha Ricci. One can’t help but think that the UFC should give Angela Hill a shot at a title before she hangs the gloves up.

A shot is all you need. Angela Hill has proven time and time again that she is ready – because she has stayed ready.
