The PFL will be taking their talents to the UK and Ireland following the launch of the inaugural European League.
The new concept features 32 of Europe’s elite competing against each other across four weight classes. The stakes are high considering to advance you have to win, there are no second chances. After the four events, each champion from their weight class will win $100,000. They will then get a chance to earn a spot in PFL’s $1 million global season.
PFL CEO, Peter Murray stated: “It will provide a pathway for these fighters to get to the PFL global season, there’s a six-figure purse in each division for the athlete who is crowned 2023 PFL Europe champion.”
PFL Europe 2023 Schedule
Per a DAZN press release, Murray revealed: “PFL Europe Regular Season events will be staged in Newcastle, UK in March, and Berlin, Germany in July. Semifinalists will then compete in a single elimination Playoff event in Paris, France, in September with the winners advancing to the PFL Europe Championship in Dublin, Ireland in December.”
As revealed by Murray the Europe Season will begin at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle, UK, on March 25th. The second phase of the regular season will be held at Verti Music Hall in Berlin, Germany on July 8th. Travelling to Zenith Paris La Villette, Paris, France for the playoffs and then onto the finals at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland on December 8th.
Taking 2023 By Storm
2023 has started off with a bang for the PFL. Being one of the fastest-growing organisations out there they are certainly making moves to compete with the UFC. It wasn’t long ago that they announced the addition of internet-turned-boxing star Jake Paul to their roster. The controversial figure confirmed he signed a multi-fight contract with the promotion to compete in a new division, known as Super Fight. In the new division, fighters are going to earn at least 50 per cent of the pay-per-view revenue. On top of this mammoth signing, the announcement of the European League makes 2023 a promising year for the company.
