Khalil Rountree has revealed he is suffering from jet lag ahead of UFC Baku.
Rountree is scheduled to face off against Jamahal Hill.
Both fighters will be looking to revive their careers and put themselves back into the title picture.
Khalil Rountree Reveals Jet Lag in Preparation for UFC Baku
The UFC is set to host its first event in Azerbaijan, with Baku hosting the inaugural event. UFC President Dana White has consistently stated that the promotion seeks to expand into as many different places as possible. However, with Baku being a twenty-hour flight from America, it’s no surprise to see Khalil Rountree suffer from jet lag.
The American said, “I’m telling you, the jet lag is real! It comes in waves, but we’re fighting it. Chris and I are fighting it like we’re fighting two men versus a gorilla. The gorilla is the jet lag.“ Meanwhile, Khalil Rountree will be looking to reignite his title hopes after his UFC 307 defeat to Alex Pereira. In what was a brutal fight, Rountree was beaten severely by the Brazilian, and many doubted he would be the same after such a brutal fight.
Jamahal Hill Set to Face Off Against Rival
Meanwhile, Jamahal Hill will be looking to create his narrative at UFC Baku. The American, who is coming off consecutive losses to Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira, will be looking to end his losing streak. Furthermore, having been the champion, Hill has experience fighting in big arenas. Despite this, many fans dislike the American as a result of his attitude, which resulted in a gym brawl with Alex Pereira.
Khalil Rountree has the endurance to match Jamahal Hill, but he will need to avoid taking too many heavy shots. One clear difference between the fighters is height, with Hill being way taller than his American counterpart. As well as this, Baku is hosting its first UFC event in the country.
