Despite his legacy in the MMA world, Jones has been involved in several instances that have brought the UFC into disrepute.
John McCarthy also revealed that this is the reason why the pair didn’t get on.

Former UFC referee John McCarthy revealed what the process is before a fighter makes the walk to the Octagon.Speaking on Weighing In, McCarthy, a veteran MMA referee, said, “I went into Jon’s locker room. He says, ‘I’ve got a question for you, I need someone’ There’s a guy in there working for the commission, and he says ‘Get on the ground with me’ so this guy being a ground guy. The guy says ‘Put me on guard right’ and Jon decides to do a sexual act on him.
John McCarthy went on to say, “Saying ‘what if I do that, this isn’t illegal right’ and quickly the guy on the ground his eyes went as big as they could get. I said Jon knock it off ‘ I could disqualify you for being unsportsmanlike. Go ahead and do it, and let’s see what happens. This is why Jon and I never really got along, I didn’t put up with his shit.”
Public Scandals Continue to Surface on Alleged ‘Goat’
It is not the first time Jon Jones has been involved in controversy. Despite the American arguably being the greatest MMA fighter of all time, Jones has been arrested several times. The list of charges ranges from DUI, and hit and run, as well as violating his probation terms. Alongside this, Jones has had several encounters with USADA, which has accused him of doping and suspended him multiple times. A brawl with Daniel Cormier led to the heavyweight champion being fined $50,000.
The latest scandal revealed by John McCarthy has not elicited a response from Jon Jones via his social media. Fans are starting to question whether the American should be allowed to step into the Octagon given his reputation.
