David Larmour is “desperate to rectify” his last outing, where he suffered his first amateur career loss at Rise and Conquer 11.

The Scotsman will be among the action this Sunday at the Dunfermline Glen Pavilion at Goliath Fight Series 5, and the man who stands across the cage from him is Stuart Murray.

Prior to the first walk in over a year for David Larmour, we had the opportunity to get a word. Hear his thoughts on Sunday’s matchup below.

Interview With David Larmour

David, fight week, and your third time making the walk to the cage. Where’s the mind at mentally after the last time we saw you out there?

Yes, fight week is here. It’s my third time in the cage, and mentally I’m locked in. No stone will be left unturned come Sunday.

Touching on that off the bat, you were stopped in the second round by Sam Curry. Upon reflection, what do you think about that fight now, and was that down to perhaps the lack of activity as of late? Or was it just one of those nights as you did start well?

I didn’t get the outcome we had hoped for in my last appearance, but I’ve analysed that fight to the death and have put right all the wrongs. I suppose you could touch on the inactivity being a factor, but no excuses. I lost on the night, and I have worked hard to get better.

Touching on Larmours Most Recent Bout

Touching on that, in 2021 at AFC, you jumped onto the scene in a big way, and many were excited to see more of you. However, activity has been a problem as of late. Is there any reason why we haven’t seen you regularly, and have you still been training during those breaks from competition?

I made my debut in 2021, and then a few other fights slipped through after that. But since then, I’ve kept working on my weaknesses and improving with the team. It’s been an active couple of years for us at Ayrshire Hit Squad – although I’ve not been as active in the cage as I would’ve liked.

Goliath Fight Series takes place this Saturday, and you’ll be a big part of the show. In terms of righting the wrong from your last outing, what can those attending expect from you?

This fight will be redemption for my last loss. I’m desperate to rectify that, and I’m buzzing to showcase my improvements.

Did you manage to watch Stuart’s MMA debut on the promotion’s last instalment? If so, what things can you take away from that, given it was only months ago?

I’ve watched his fight, I see the weaknesses, and I’ll look to expose them. I’ve grafted hard, and I’m hungrier than ever. This has been the best fight camp to date. I’ll leave it all in that cage on Sunday, and I’m coming for the finish.
