Conor Benn reveals his interesting next steps following his defeat to Chris Eubank Jr at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month.
The ‘Destroyer’ lost on a unanimous decision to bitter rival Eubank Jr in a contender for fight of the year.
However, Benn and his team felt he should have come away with the decision.
Speaking to the Ariel X Ade show, the 28-year-old reiterated calls for a rematch.
“If I don’t do Eubank next, that ship sailed, it has to be Eubank next,” he said.
“If it’s not Eubank then that chapter closed and I drop down to 147.”
Attached to the first fight with Eubank was a two way rematch clause for a second showdown in September.
And according to the fighter himself, the contracts are already out.
He stated: “As far as I am aware the contracts are ready and we’ve signed.”
But the venue of this proposed clash has not been confirmed.
When asked if they would return to the scene of their last spectacle, Benn hinted towards a huge upgrade.
“(Returning to Tottenham) Potentially or Wembley maybe.”
Demand would certainly be there for it to head over to the national stadium but it all depends on Eubank Jrs appetite to fight again.
Other interesting options
Instead of putting all his eggs in one basket, the fighter has kept the door open for a return to the welterweight division.
The London man is still chasing his shot at WBC champion Mario Barrios who is rumoured to fight Manny Pacquiao in July.
While still on his radar, he was asked which welterweight on show last weekend would he potentially face.
With one star name standing out, he said: “I would prefer (Devin) Haney out of the lot of them.”
The ‘Dream’ was successful in his Times Square showing on Friday but received criticism for a lackluster performance.
His future has also been thrown up in the air after Ryan Garcia lost to Rolly Romero on the same card.
However, Benn did think twice about fighting Haney for one reason.
He laughed: “But then again, I don’t fancy catching a lawsuit, so I’ll probably give that a swerve.”
The joke was in reference to the 26-year-olds lawsuit filed against Garcia in September for damages after their April 2024 bout.
‘King Ry’ was found to have taken performance enhancing drugs which led to his win being overturned to a no contest.
This suit was settled due to plans for their anticipated rematch.
