Brett Johns Fight Night 1 adds another title fight, and it’s a rematch many have wanted to see. Told to us by Brett himself, this fight will be contested for the Welterweight Gold of BJFN. They first fought in July of 2020, and Brian came out on top. Nearly three years later, they go again.
Brian Evans vs Kacper Zdunczyk
This fight is one that will give a real veteran of the game a claim to gold. Both Brian Evans and Kacper Zdunczyk are deeply rooted in this game. Brian comes from a family of fighters. Kacper has ten amateur fights to his name. The two went to war before, and all it left was the fans salivating for more.
Brian is the cousin of Bellator fighter and BJFN namesake/promoter Brett Johns. Fighting just may be in the blood, as Brian’s prior opponents have been no joke. In his debut, a 5-2 opponent who was stopped in the first round. His second? A hard fought loss where he’d be stopped in the third round, but his opponent had a staggering 8-1 record compared to Brians 1-0. The third and final fight to this point was against Kacper. Now, Brian returns for the first time since before the Covid pandemic.
Kacper Zdunczyk has seen a little bit of everything in his fight career. From June of 2019 until February of 2020, Kacper went 0-5. Instead of counting himself out, he bought fully in. A year and a half later, Kacper returned to the octagon and got a third round finish at Olympus Fighting Championships. Fast forward to March of 2022, just last month. Kacper defeated ten fight veteran Dan Stephens at CWA Wales. Now, Kacper gets to show if he truly has entered a different level in a rematch we’ve been wanting to see.
Brett Johns Fight Night 1 Takes Place May 7th
If you’re near South Wales, the Carmarthen Show Ground on May 7th is the place to be. When BJFN 1 goes down, there will be an absolutely loaded amateur card prior to a main event fans should salivate over. Multiple title fights with endless intrigue are already slated.
