Since defeating Jiri Procházka and becoming the UFC Light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has catapulted himself into stardom. Alex Pereira has also become the UFC’s biggest active star along the way.

Alex Pereira has not been in the UFC for a long. However, despite only being in the UFC for three years. Alex Pereira has become one of the biggest stars in combat sports. Pereira has also saved the UFC on multiple occasions this year. Due to this has become a favourite among the fans.

Even earlier this month, Alex Pereira broke the UFC record for the least amount of days between three title defences. This was a record which was previously held by Ronda Rousey.

Alex Pereira Set to Make Acting Debut

As Alex Pereira continues to grow as a personality inside and outside of the cage. The 37-year-old looks set to join the elite group of fighters who have made their debuts in the acting world.

There have only been a few fighters who have been big enough stars to be able to put the gloves down and get in front of the cameras in Hollywood. Alex Pereira looks set to join this list as the next person to do it.

Former UFC double champ Conor McGregor starred in a movie alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. This was in the remake of Road House which was released earlier in 2024. Other fighters who have made the switch have included Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, Michael Bisping, Rampage Jackson, and Kamaru Usman who have also played roles in big parties.

It was reported by The Hollywood Reporter last Thursday that Alex Pereira will be making his acting debut in a film called ‘Onslaught’. This film is being directed by Adam Wingard. Wingard has directed films in the past which have included Godzilla x King: The New Empire, Death Note, and many more.

The film has been described as a ‘gonzo action horror thriller’ and it will also star lead actress Adria Arjona. Alex Pereira is set to play the role of ‘The Butcher’.

Pereira and Jones Tease Potential Fight

After being the most active UFC champion this year, Alex Pereira will likely be putting a hold on his UFC career if he does star in the movie ‘Onslaught’. However, this past Thursday Alexa Pereira and UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones hinted at something big.

The two fighters have previously met back at UFC 306 last September. This got sparks talking online that they discussed a possible future fight. However, despite that, Jon Jones came out shortly after and admitted that they’d agreed to train with each other. With both these fighters seeming striking up some kind of friendship, they have enjoyed a FaceTime call together in which they have claimed ”Even Dana White would be curious of what we talked about’.

Dana White has been open to the idea of a super fight between Alex Pereira and Jon Jones. However, Jon Jones has hinted that his fight at UFC 309 against Stipe Miocic will be his last. If this fight is not his last he will likely have to unify the heavyweight title against Tom Aspinall before he can go out and fight Alex Pereira.
