Josh Kelly returns this Friday taking on Romanian Falvius Biea on Wasserman’s free to air channel 5 stream.
The pretty boy returns for the first time in almost a year after beating Ishmael Davies on the undercard of Joshua Vs Dubois at Wembley.
Kelly is looking to make a world title run next year and will need to come through against Flavius Biea in his home town of Newcastle.
The Newcastle man has struggled with inactivity and staying on a consistent path leading to his lack of world title opportunities.
Despite beating the unbeaten Troy Williamson and the tough Ishmael Davies he has failed to return to the level since losing to David Avanesyan.
Josh Kelly Has Big Dream Fights-
Kelly has big dreams of world title aspirations for next year but also has his sights on big fights with Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.
“I don’t think Eubank would go anywhere near me. I think I’ve got more of a chance getting the Conor Benn fight. If he can’t make 147 anymore, or struggles to get down there, I’m the biggest guy at 154.”
“Conor’s a very clever fighter in terms of marketing. I should take a leaf out of his book and I should start shouting everybody out. I should just say, ‘I’m only fighting the ones who are going to make me the most money’.”
His opponent Flavius Biea has a 24-1-0 fighting majority out of his home country Romania but has had some experience in Germany, Hungary, Canada and a single fight in the UK at York Hall vs famous toughen Burman Sanchez.
Kelly wont necessarily make any headlines by beating Biea but it will place him one step closer to getting back to constant boxing leading to potential title fights.
The fight card will be streamed live on free to air tv on Channel 5 with Tom Welland both returning for the undercard.
Josh Kelly Vs Flavius Biea Live Round By Round-
Josh Kelly Defeats Flavius Biea Via 1st Round KO-
Round 1-
Josh Kelly wins in the very first round.
The Newcastle hometown man throws a shimmy faint and throws a double left hook which sees Biea down to the floor, the referee did his 10 count and Biea couldn’t make it to his feet.
The commentary has noted that Kelly has put on a lot of weight after the weigh ins, coming into the fight bigger and stronger.
That has been shown with Kelly knocking Biea out in the very first round.
Josh Kelly obviously has world title hopes which this win wont hurt his chances, he also wants the big fights with Conor Benn and other UK talents. This has helped Kelly with a viral finish. After going just a single round he should look to be out very soon.
“I want anyone and everyone, If it’s a big domestic fight I want Benn. If not I want a world championship.”
Kelly claimed after the fight “after the British title I thought I was gonna kick on, I want those big fights and I want to bring a world title to the North East.”
“If you get the right people around you, you come on as a boxer and as a man.” He dedicated his win to Georgia O’Connor who recently passed away after a battle with cancer.
