Benavidez vs Morrell: Fight Card Preview
David Benavidez returns this Saturday in his second fight at light-heavyweight, on a blockbuster PBC show. Benavidez takes on David Morrell in a huge 50/50 clash. The fight is for Benavidez’s WBC interim and Morrell’s WBA “regular” light heavyweight titles.

(29-0) David Benavidez makes his second appearance at light-heavyweight this Saturday. Benavidez debuted at the weight last year when he faced Oleksandr Gvozdyk. Benavidez was victorious via unanimous decision for the WBC interim light heavyweight title. David Morrell also debuted at the weight last year which is what makes this bout even more intriguing. Likewise Morrell won via unanimous decision in a tough test versus Radivoje Kalajdzic through twelve rounds for the WBA ‘regular’ world light heavyweight strap. Both men can pack a punch, with “The Monster” Benavidez having 24KOs in 29 wins, and David Morrell with 9KOs in 11 wins.
Stacked Undercard: Preview
To support the blockbuster main event, is a mammoth undercard. Chief support of the night sees featherweight World Title action as (25-1-1) Brandon Figueroa defends his WBC World Title in his rematch versus (22-1) Stephen Fulton. Figueroa & Fulton met back in 2021 at Super-Bantamweight in a unified world title fight, in which Fulton won via majority decision. Further down the PPV bill sees (26-3-1) Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz take on (23-2-2) Angel Fierro in an interesting clash. Then we see another featherweight bout as (14-0) Micro Cuello take on (22-1-1) Christian Olivo Barreda through ten rounds in a WBA World Title eliminator. Another intriguing clash on the card is (21-1) Jesus Ramos Jr take on (24-4-2) Jeison Rosario over ten rounds at Super-Welterweight.
David Benavidez vs David Morrell will be shown live on Prime Video PPV, and the card begins 8pm ET / 5pm PT / 1am GMT (Sunday) on Saturday, February 1.
