Sources close to Combat Sports UK have confirmed that UFC 286 in London has another banger bout on deck. Chris Duncan will make his debut after his spectacular round-one KO on Dana White’s Contender Series last August. His opponent will be Mike Figlak who will make his second octagon walk following his decision loss to Fares Ziam in September.
Two men who plenty of UK fans will be familiar with. You need to look no further than their already impressive resumes to see the talent they each possess. Taking place at lightweight, it’s a great fight that will be sure to deliver.
Chris Duncan
Chris Duncan will make his UFC debut with a lot of hype. The 29-year-old Scotland native has put together an extremely impressive 9-1 professional record that has seen him compete all over the UK and Bellator where he has gone 3-0.
‘The Problem’ by name and a problem by nature, of his nine wins he has only failed to finish one. Boasting seven TKO/KO’s with a lone submission. Capable wherever the fight goes, his main weapon of choice is his hands.
Making his DWCS debut in October 2021, he was unsuccessful on his first attempt. However, after a quick pit stop at UFL 8, where he earned a unanimous decision victory. Chris got the second call. Making up for his previous showing he delivered a highlight reel comeback KO to secure a UFC contract.
Michal Figlak
Facing the debutant will be Cage Warriors alum Mike Figlak. Unsuccessful in his debut, fans of Figlak know there’s more to come from the ‘Mad Dog’. His UK MMA success speaks for itself. His overall record is 8-1.
At only 26, Mike has accrued a wealth of experience as both a pro and amatuer. Of his eight professional wins Figlak has finished half of them, all by KO/TKO.
Not to be counted out just for one loss. Mike is well-rounded and has an adaptable skill-set dependent on his opponent. Looking to make amends and announce his true self to the UFC. Expect a motivated Mike on fight night.
