Easter is about family, religion and peace but this weekends boxing is about revenge and redemption. Liam Cameron Takes on Ben Whittaker in a fierce rematch, the first encounter ended in controversy but the 2nd bout promises fireworks.

Whittaker is looking for redemption after an embarrassing first fight which saw him end the bout with an injury after the two flew over the ropes. Since the first bout Whittaker has been uncharacteristically radio silent on social media, some have claimed he is embarrassed but one thing is for sure he has rebuilt. Whittaker is known for his unconventional style and showboating but in the Cameron bout he looked sluggish and un fit to go 12 rounds.

Whittaker claimed “I was calling the shots, I chose what I did everyday in the gym” with his previous coach, Joby Clayton, Joby was Bens amateur coach. This time he has linked up with one of the most sought after coaches in boxing. Andy Lee has been in demand after taking both Paddy Donovan and Joseph Parker to different stratospheres, Lee has now taken on Whittaker to show him the real professional game.

Both have claimed Whittaker has had a great camp and is ready to show the world what he was missing before.

Liam Cameron Is Not Shy Of A Rebuild-

Cameron on the other hand knows exactly what it’s like to rebuild, both in the boxing ring and in his personal life. Liam Cameron is the definition of never give up, after battling against a drug addiction and a absurd ban from boxing ( The UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) agency found Cameron guilty of the anti-doping violation and imposed a four-year ban) in 2018 he has rebuilt himself into a very solid fighter.

The Yorkshire boxer may have 6 losses on his record but he is far from a pushover in the ring, Cameron only recently went the distance in a split decision loss to Lyndon Arthur (Fought for world honours vs Bivol) which many have claimed he won. Which is exactly what most claim he did against Whittaker in Riyadh, he was certainly starting to take control of the fight before the two went over the ropes and has shown he’s capable of holding his own.

Cameron has not only got an uphill battle in the ring but outside of it too. He has been in a dispute with Ben Shalom and Boxxer over the amount of rounds that the fight will have. Boxxer and Shalom claim that they sent a generic contract which included a 12 round bout and have had to pay a hefty amount for the mistake. Cameron claims he still hasn’t received a 10 round contract from Boxxer and the team.

The build up will be intense with both having a lot to lose on Sunday but on the day Jesus was resurrected will it be Ben Whittaker revitalising his career and taking the step to stardom or will Liam Cameron rise from the depths of his lows to complete a huge upset.

Ben Whittaker Vs Liam Cameron Undercard-

The undercard sees familiar names return with Frazer Clarke back taking on the underwhelming Ebenezer Tetteh. If you haven’t seen Tetteh fight before I would encourage you to head to YouTube and watch some pre Daniel Dubois fights from the Ghanaian.

In the co main event Sam Eggington takes on Lee Cutler for the World Boxing Council International Silver Super Welterweight Title which promises to be a solid bout.

Tyler Denny returns against another ex Boxxer opponent in Elvis Ahorgah who was recently finished by Callum Simpson.

Troy Coleman takes on Bradley Goldsmith for a British Boxing Board of Control Midlands Area Middleweight Title.

Portsmouths own Lucas Ballingall will face off against Elliot Whale in a strong bout, Ballingall undefeated in his last 4 bouts and Whale is 11-0-0 as a professional.

Finally we will see 19-0 Mark Jeffers return to our screens as he takes on Ricardo Lara.
